Summary
With over 20 years experience working within the NHS and partners within
the Voluntary Sector I can bring an array of experiences, knowledge and
skills to support your organisational goals and ambitions.
I have worked extensively within the NHS mainly within Children’s
or Women and Children’s services across a variety of NHS Trusts. My
experience offers a balance of clinical expertise and credibility together
with success at senior management level.
More recently I have Programme Managed the National NHS Newborn Hearing
Screening Programme (NHSP) implementing the national
screen across all PCTs in England. I am currently working with the Scottish
programme assisting with the IT interface and general advice for programme
management.

Programme Management
Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP)
I have been involved with NHSP since early 2002 as Programme Manager.
My role was as Programme Manager ensuring all aspects of the national
programme worked in tandem and that the programme was delivered on time,
on budget and to the highest standards.
Key objectives of the programme management were:
- Strategic planning of the national roll out to PCTs and Audiology Services
- Operational management of the Programme Team
- Financial management and control of funds allocated from the Department
of Health
- Allocation of ‘pump-priming’ monies to local Newborn Hearing
Screening programmes
- Quality Assurance of the programme
- Integration of training to the roll out programme
- Assessment of audiology and education services related to hearing service
within each consortia
- Representation at national level for the programme
- Presentation at local, national and international conferences
- Adherence to political deadlines for roll out, necessitating service
reviews and programme deadlines.
- Financial forecasts for each phase of the programme submitted to the
Department of health
